 René came across this book while perusing the numerous bargain bins at the local Borders. Right away, she was struck by the colorful cover and the Caribbean theme. She picked out this book in January, thinking it would be a great read for the cold Syracuse winter.

Celestine Hitiura Vaite is a Tahitian author, born in 1966.  She is the daughter of a Tahitian mother and a French father, growing up on the island of Tahiti.  She became interested in French authors.  Although a native French speaker, Vaite writes in English.  Vaite lives in New South Wales, Australia and has 4 children.
